GMTV clips (1/1/1999)
Mr Motivator presents all the GMTV links from the Millennium Dome building site on Friday, 1st January, 1999. (I wish all clips were as easy to date as this one.) We get the continuity around BeetleBorgs Metallix and Beast Wars, plus promos, ads, and a very extra special brief treat right at the end for those who stay the course.
Included are some of "The Adventures of Mr Millennium", which tackle subjects as diverse as ancient Babylon and circuses. There's a bit of a Disney flavour to some of the promos and ads, with the Winnie the Pooh tie-in with McDonald's being my personal favourite. And once you've guzzled down one too many Happy Meals, why not work it all off with Lorraine Kelly's latest fitness video? I love how, after several showings of that, suddenly Rosemary Conley pops up to promote her own rival workout vid. Lorraine must have been seething. Also of interest are Michael Barrymore making an appearance on behalf of Daz, and The Daily Mail really flogging their horoscope thing which uses the latest computer technology so simply must be even more accurate than ever.
Speaking of such publications, I know I'm being preachy in my nagging to not buy The Sun, but it's not a political stance - it really is a matter of personal principle and I'm determined not to let it lie (pun fully intended).
