In this video, I will teach you how to make a griffin character by modeling the base shape with a reference image in Blender. The griffin made in this video is called Grifie. She is an orange feathered and golden skinned griffin who is rumored to appear in some contexts. Also, she will be introduced in some creative projects of Kozmobot.
A small mistake was found: at 4:10 I said solidify instead of subdivision surface. My mistake.
I will show you how I made a character with multiple techniques. For making the griffin in Blender, I used polygon modeling, mirror modifiers and sculpting, so the griffin character became more and more realistic.
I apologize if the voiceover cannot be heard, it's because of my microphone and exploding, resonating voices.
Furthermore, I will also show you what shortcuts and techniques I use to make a 3D character like the one you see at the thumbnail. Personally, I do a lot of sculpting with dynamic topology, which is useful for a very complex 3D model, in order to be made with a single shape. Some people make models with multiple shapes, like spheres. This character came from a cube in Blender, although the default cube was deleted and a new cube was created.
This 3D modeling tutorial, as well as a sculpting tutorial, will be useful for people who already had touch with Blender and want to model something complex and unbelievable. If you are a beginner, than you should consider looking for beginner tutorials first.
