Every step towards a solution is an attempt to close a gap. Help us close this gap.
The Gap: General contractors (GCs) expect subcontractors (known as trade partners) to be Lean Ready when they sign up to work for a Lean Construction project. Currently, less than 5% of trade partners are Lean Ready. Our target is to have 80% of the construction industry prepared for a Lean project. The gap can be represented as the difference between the 5% and the 80%, or it can be represented in time or duration. The time is six months.
Perry and I propose that by performing four activities—known as the Pᶣ Process—all trade partners will be prepared for the onboarding done by the general contractors. This will cause six months of learning curve improvement. It takes a minimum of six months of training and doing before trade partners are meeting the expectations set by the general contractors.
