More folk metal stuff incoming!
I tried singing the joik parts first, and while I do believe I got somewhat close to the sound, it obviously wouldn't have been authentic yet. It's nice that the original showcases this traditional Sami singing, but since I didn't want to ridicule it with a bad imitation, I just sang the lyrical part in the chorus.
Also, I'm not very comfortable with singing improvised ad-libs in general, so I used that space in the song to bring out more of the instrumental section! Specifically: My beloved Uilleann Pipes and Tin Whistle! There's also a Hurdy Gurdy somewhere in the background.
And the rest I just filled up with growls :) . They somewhat overlap with both the sung parts as well as with those lines that are "joiked" in the original.
