You can roll backwards (also called riding fakie) on ANY bike, it doesn't take a special wheel to get the job done. In this video, we explain the process that makes it happen, and how you can do it on ANY bike. After explaining what is happening, we break down the technique and show you all the steps to practicing it on your own.
The important thing about rolling backwards is that it applies to other skills on your mountain bike. For instance, trackstands are made possible by a quick rollback motion, which comes from the technique we discuss in this video.
