One of the most important parts of teaching band is recruiting. Every year, in July and August, I help out my elementary band teacher, Jill Geist, with recruiting and performing at assemblies across the schools that feed into my program. Jill has managed to set up an amazing elementary band program that starts with signing up more than 700 students across 7 schools each year.
