!! Gun Violence Intervention Training and Curriculum !!

The Gun Violence Intervention Curriculum is a comprehensive, interactive workbook designed to engage youth and families in meaningful discussions and activities aimed at reducing gun violence and promoting healthier communities. Gun violence has become the leading cause of death for children and teens in the U.S., with over 2,500 youth lives lost in 2022 alone, highlighting the urgent need for intervention. This workbook takes a proactive approach, offering tools and strategies that empower young people to develop nonviolent conflict resolution skills, improve emotional regulation, and heal from trauma.

Participants will explore a range of topics, including active listening, self-awareness, and decision-making, all while fostering social and emotional learning (SEL) competencies. The workbook also emphasizes whole-family support, helping to ensure that basic needs are met and offering guidance to reduce the likelihood of future involvement with the criminal justice system. Through engaging activities, group discussions, and self-reflection. This workbook aims to instill critical life skills that not only decrease gun violence but also promote a positive self-image, healthier relationships, and goal setting.

Key objectives include eliminating gun violence, improving conflict resolution, enhancing social and self-awareness, and reducing self-destructive behaviors such as drug use. By working through the workbook, participants will gain the tools needed to build stronger, safer communities.
