Snob Protection in Shaughnessy? (1980) Traffic Diversions in Vancouver's most exclusive district
In the early 1980's, Vancouver BC began a traffic diversion experiment in the Shaughnessy residential district to put an end to motorists using it as an arterial thouroughfare. Residents of adjacent neighbourhoods like Fred Cavanagh saw the move as elitist and inappropriate use of property tax funds.
