Until recently it seemed to us that Detroit is far beyond the point of return. Having never been there, it's impossible to escape numerous newscasts and the many YouTube videos proclaiming it "the lost city" in unison so we kinda bought into the premise and never looked back.
But having met David Hoffman, COO of https://realt.co/ - a platform that started off by tokenizing single-family homes in Motor city, we saw a glimpse of hope. After all, the auto industry dismemberment followed by merciless gentrification didn't do Detroit all the way in, and asset tokenization on the blockchain might just be the way to revitalize the community that's been looking for a second chance for decades.
