Y2K crochet mesh front tie cardigan tutorial
*Quick note*: When counting the odd rows for your back panel do NOT count row 1. I technically have 24 rows in my back panel if I include row 1 in that as well. That was a mistake on my end, sorry!
Gauge Swatch Written Pattern:
Row 1: Make foundation slip stitches (or regular slip stitches) until the row reaches 6 in/ 15 cm long.
Row 2: Ch 6. Turn. Sk 2 sts. Sc in 3rd st. *Ch 5. Sk 2 sts. Sc in 3rd st; Repeat * until end of row.
Row 3: Ch 6. Turn. Sc in 1st ch sp. * Ch 5. Sc in next ch sp; Repeat * until end of row.
Row 4 - ?: Repeat row 3 until your gauge swatch reaches a height of 6 in/15 cm.
Gauge Swatch Measuring Explanation:
When I say 5 stitches across, I mean 5 mesh stitches. It seems I didn't make that clear enough! So you are going to be counting each mesh stitch as one stitch, which is from one single crochet to the next single crochet. So that means you'll be counting each chain space as one mesh stitch essentially.
