Boroky - Raspberry Eyes (Studio Sessions)
This song was inspired by a brief conversation on a train, maybe twenty minutes long, with someone I barely knew. As a very young adult, they had cared for, and then lost, a parent. They had handled it as well as anyone could be expected to and had come out the other side seeing more beauty in the world than ever. The tale was ambivalent in many ways: happy and sad, bitter and sweet, disturbing and illuminating, shocking yet predictable. It was still very fresh, they were still living it, still troubled by it, still shaken and confused. Nothing was yet clear, nothing had crystallised yet. But they were doing their best to make the most of their life. I went home and immediately started writing this song.
