The Monster Book of Monsters was an incredibly informative tome on the care of magical creatures, owned by Rubeus Hagrid. In the 1999 Walter Dean Myers' novel Monster, Steve Harmon, a Black, 16-year-old growing up in Harlem, tells his story of being put on trial for robbery and murder.
