There are certain moments in gaming history that change the landscape of the video game industry in its entirety. These moments define whole console generations but more importantly they can define entire generations of players. People play video games for all sorts of reasons. Whether it be for the escapism, competitiveness, the sense of adventure, or to simply pass the time. What we seldom forget or never realize is how certain games under the right circumstances can vastly impact our lives because of the things we learn from them, the things we escape from thanks to them, and the bonds we form because of them.
Dear Halo: Combat Evolved
We first met back in 2003 when I was just a kid I would have never guessed the impact our relationship would have on me. This is not a review, this is not a retrospective this is my story with Halo: Combat Evolved.
This is a simply little story of how thanks to Halo Combat Evolved I met my best friend. Together we grew a bond stronger than family as we grew up playing Halo 2 and Halo 3. In our final moments of Adolescence into adulthood we would experience Halo 4.
Its really hard to explain just how much of who I am today was impacted by just one video game.
Dalton, thanks for all the great memories man. Maybe I`ll see you on the battlefields of Halo Infinity.
