Dr Amjid Aziz explores teh following nine rules of Imam Shami:
1. Precedence given to the opinion of Imam Abu Hanifa in Worship;
2. Precedence given to the opinion of Qadi Imam Abu Yousuf in issues relating to the court;
3.Precedence given to the opinion of Imam Muhammad in issues relating to the family law;
4. The Istihsan will be taken without Qiyas;
5. The Fatwa will be issued according to the 6 books of Zahir ul Riwayah;
6. The use of logic and argument will be preferred in issues;
7. The utmost care should be taken when dealing with issues of apostasy;
8. The weak position will not be accepted;
9. A juristic position must have precedence in Hanafi Fiqh.
Dr Amjad Aziz is the Director of Education in Karimia Institute . He completed his traditional Dars-e-Nizami studies from Dar-Ul-Uloom Muhammadiyah Ghausia seminary (Bhera, Pakistan) and a B.A from Punjab University. He then travelled to Al-Azhar University, after completing his studies there he completed his PhD in Cairo, focusing his research on Arabic literature and Sufism in the works of Mevlana Jalaludin Rumi.
