Get Creative Festival - Manor Green Community Sing & Sign Choir
This film was made by Crawley Film Initiative as part of our participation in the national 'Get Creative Festival' 2021, where we invited anyone and everyone to come and join our Zoom choir. The spotlight is on our Sing & Sign Choir; but it is emblematic of all the adaptations and work we did to keep students connected and creative during lockdowns. We now continue as a hybrid meet-up after-school and on Zoom, Mondays at 3.15pm.
"This was such a special SPOTLIGHT video for us. This is the story of Manor Green Choir who had setbacks during the pandemic and weren't able to meet as a group in person to sing. Vanessa Dell used Microsoft Teams/Zoom as one of the ways to connect all the students and allow them to have a creative outlet during lockdowns. It provided much needed well-being support for the students.
Crawley Film Initiative mentored four young people aged 16-25 years to help produce this film. Our ethos as a community interest company is to give young people a chance to share their voice through film and explore issues that impact their community."
