Grafting cucumbers for a large harvest in the cold Siberian summer
This year I decided to try to grow cucumbers by grafting on a special rootstock RS 841.
Only four cucumber bushes grow in the film greenhouse: two are root-related, two are grafted.
They were sown on the same day - May 8. In the phase of the appearance of the second leaf, some seedlings were vaccinated in a lateral incision. A little boy was organized for the fusion. A week later, the vaccinations fused and the boy was gradually removed.
The grafted seedlings were planted in the greenhouse on June 10 (unvaccinated - on May 31). After landing without delay and acclimatization, the unvaccinated bushes grew rapidly and were significantly ahead of development.
Growth conditions: Western Siberia, Khanty-Mansiysk, unstable temperatures with sharp fluctuations and a predominance of cold (up to +5+8 in the first half of June, rains), a greenhouse made of reinforced film. Native soil is clay. For the third year in a row, "hot" grass is regularly laid on the bed for cucumbers, thanks to which the bushes develop perfectly.
