Latest Update: Volkswagen has just launched the new GT Line and GT Plus Sport variants of the Taigun compact SUV. For a limited period, they have also reduced the prices of the Taigun by over Rs 1 lakh.
Price: The Taigun is now priced from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 18.90 lakh, thanks to the ongoing offer. The newly introduced GT Line and GT Plus Sport variants have a starting price of Rs 14.08 lakh. (all prices ex-showroom pan India).
Variants: You have the option to choose between two broad variants: Dynamic Line and Performance Line.
Engine and Transmission: The Volkswagen Taigun is equipped with two turbo-petrol engines:
A 1-litre engine (115 PS/178 Nm)
A 1.5-litre engine (150 PS/250 Nm)
Both engines come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission. The 1-litre engine also has a 6-speed torque converter option, while the 1.5-litre engine offers a 7-speed DCT.
The 1.5-litre engine comes with cylinder deactivation technology, which shuts off two cylinders under less stress conditions, resulting in enhanced fuel efficiency.
Safety: Your safety is a top priority. The Taigun is equipped with up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a rear-view camera, and seat belt reminders for all passengers.
Rivals: The Volkswagen Taigun competes with several popular SUVs in the market, such as the Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Citroen C3 Aircross, and Honda Elevate. If you're looking for a rugged alternative, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic also presents a compelling option.
