Deforestation is Making Us Sick!
If any lesson is to learned in 2020 it is that destroying nature can have some devastating consequences. The world changed when a coronavirus pandemic shut the world down. This though is not the first nor will it be the last such virus to spread from wild animals to people. HIV/AIDS, other coronaviruses, ebola, and many other diseases can cross from animal to human when humans come in contact with them in their world. Perhaps this latest corona virus came from bats harvested from a Chinese cave. HIV came from primate hunters in Africa. When we destroy habitat, humans enter and can come into contact with diseases that soon evolve to leave the forest and enter the modern world.
