In ancient times, people and animals could communicate. A man helped a snake by carrying it on his head, but when he wanted the snake to get down, it refused and threatened to bite him. They asked several animals for judgment, all siding with the snake out of fear. Finally, the fox cleverly tricked the snake to come down, allowing the man to kill it. Grateful, the man promised the fox a sheep but tricked him by sending his dog to kill the fox, showing human ingratitude.
