Xiaomi has confirmed on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, that the handset will be finally launched on the aforesaid date. Xiaomi has posted a picture on Weibo handle of the smartphone. In the picture, Liu Haoran, a Chinese actor, holds a pink variant of the phone. The picture of the device looks similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro
Xiaomi Redmi S2 Specifications
Even though the Chinese smartphone maker confirmed launch of the device in China on May 10 , specifications of the device is not yet known. According to reports, Xiaomi Redmi S2 is expected to run on Android 8.1 Oreo and likely to have MIUI 9 skin on top. The smartphone is expected to have a 5.99-inch HD+ IPS LCD display.
Redmi S2 is expected to be powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, according to techradar. According to the report the smartphone will come in three variants -- 2GB RAM + 16GB storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The Xiaomi teaser on the microblogging site also reveals that the smartphone will have specific features for selfie. Redmi S2 features 12MP primary camera with PDAF, EIS and a secondary 5MP camera and the smartphone will sport a 16MP selfie camera with a selfie flash at the front.
Colours Availablity
The smartphone is likely to come in three colour options: grey, gold and rose gold. The company has not yet revealed the price of the smartphone. However, going by its specification, the price is likely to start from Rs 10,000. The smartphone will be powered by a 3,080mAh battery. The device will also have standard connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and a USB port. Xiaomi S2 will have a fingerprint sensor at the back.
