The Myth of the Goddess Coyolxauhqui
On February 21, 1978, the mysterious, large circular monolith of the goddess Coyolxauhqui was discovered. From that moment on, the full excavation of the so-called Templo Mayor project began. In ancient times, this project was the most important sanctuary in the sacred precinct of Tenochtitlán.
