“Poetry has got me here. Poetry is why I’m here with you today. I can take it all the way back to fourth grade when my mother helped me with my first poem for Black History Month. It was a poem about Jackie Robinson.” 

This month, we have local poet Lydia Johnson interviewing the new Indiana Poet Laureate Curtis Crisler about everything from his first poem, the sonastic poem structure that he invented and how he incorporates historical events into his work.
