The Number One Problem With Calf Sharing..... No Cream!
I love calf sharing. Not only do I love watching my family milk cows raise their babies, but I also just love the convenience of it! I don't have to worry about handling all the milk or feeding another mouth, mama cow has it covered. Many people don't calf share because it's not a perfect world. You may struggle with calves biting the cows teats, behaviour issues, or what seems to be the biggest deal breaker.... less cream than if you were not calf sharing! Not much butter making happens over here! In this video I take you through some of they whys behind how cows are able to hold back the cream for their calves, as well as some tips and tricks to limit this problem.
