BMW R1250GSA - Newbies in the Dirt 2 up - Multiple Drops!
So my biker babe and I did a bad thing. With my Harley in the shop for 8 days, we purchased a BMW R1250GSA…
Ultimately we have always wanted a bike for the road, long trips, and a bike where we can explore what lies beyond.
The Harley Road Glide is fantastic for the road. The most comfortable bike we have owned where we can chew up 500+ mile rides and still feel like we can go even further. Provided she does not break down… hmmm.
The BMW R1250GSA is our, let’s get out and explore, bike.
We always ride 2 up, so that was a huge factor when looking for and explorer bike. There are some great options out there… but the BMW seems to be the best mix of comfort and feature to support 2 up exploration. Suspension features and ground clearance also being a factor.
Anyway. We have had the bike for exactly 2 weeks where we are mostly weekend warriors. This is our first go with serious off road adventuring.
We have the stock Bridgestone Battalax Adventure A41 tires… we will be upgrading to more aggressive tires. Having gone down 4 times on this ride.
