VA Proposed Updates to Sleep Apnea & Tinnitus VA Ratings
VA announced proposed changes to the VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities (VASRD) specifically pertaining to VA claims for sleep apnea, tinnitus, and mental health Feb 2022. VA says this change will make VA ratings for these conditions more aligned with current day medicine. Long story short, reading the document of purposed changes and assumptions, the VA is planning to aggressively decrease Veterans who are currently Service-connected for Sleep Apnea to Zero or 10% if it applies, Prevent Veterans from submitting new Sleep Apnea VA Claims, as well as re-evaluate Veterans who are currently Service-connected for Sleep Apnea whenever they submit any request for a VA Rating Increase. This document has purposed changes to almost 25-35 disabilities, however, the most impactful disabilities that Veterans Seek are the bread and butter of this overall proposal.
