Getting to grips with reaction mechanisms!
There are a lot of reaction mechanisms in chemistry but the key is not to try to learn them parrot fashion (inevitably ends in a muddle and nil points).
The trick is to understand the way atoms like nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen behave so you can apply your understanding to any scenario the examiners throw at you.
This video looks at the reaction mechanism for the test for a carbonyl group with 2,4-DNP which is pretty complex but showcases common steps between intermediates.
