ADDENDUM: Scrolling Timeline… it's even BETTER than I thought!
In this video, we delve into even more of the scrolling timeline feature in Final Cut Pro. If you missed the initial video: • The BEST There Is?! The Auto-Scrollin... . Shortly after its release, some omissions and new discoveries prompted a quick addendum.
The first revelation addresses the desire for an easy on/off switch for scrolling. A new keyboard command is revealed, customizable through the command editor, providing a convenient way to toggle scrolling during playback.
Next, the comparison with Davincio Resolve, highlighting its (IMO) comparatively horrible, not actually scrolling timeline. While some aspects are superior to Premiere, the absence of true scrolling is kind of ironic.
I illustrate how Final Cut's implementation intelligently handles scrolling halts during user interactions, offering a smooth and non-disruptive experience, unlike ANY others.
Also notable advantage in Final Cut's scrolling timeline for multicams! Activating automatic scrolling allows real-time updates to filmstrips and waveforms during playback, addressing a previous limitation, dare I say annoyance in Multicam editing.
