Donating quilts for disaster relief: In this video, join my husband and I as we discuss how quilters can truly help after disasters without unintentionally causing more harm. Many of us feel the urge to donate quilts (or a vast array of other items) immediately, but doing so too soon or without understanding the needs of the affected community can result in wasted efforts—sometimes even leading to quilts and other donations ending up in landfills.
Together, we’ll explain the right way to offer support, common mistakes to avoid, and how to make sure your donations truly make a difference in times of crisis. Let’s quilt with purpose and serve in the most effective way possible.
