An aborted woman about to give birth, young Marie desperately seeks refuge in the backwaters of the Dominican Republic during the 1937 Parsley Massacre.
It tells Marie's story during the beginning of the Haitian genocide ordered by dictator Rafael L. Trujillo on the border in 1937.
