On March 5, 2025, the collective Los Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco made a terrifying discovery at Rancho Izaguirre, located in Teuchitlán, Jalisco. Within the 10,000-square-meter site, they found clandestine graves, improvised crematoriums, and more than 200 pairs of shoes, evidence that the site was an extermination center operated by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. Despite being secured by the National Guard in 2024, the site continued to operate as a site for forced disappearances.
Among the skeletal remains and personal belongings found were a notebook with victim records, an official ID, and shell casings of various calibers, as well as handcuffs and magazines, suggesting that many people were held captive and subjected to inhumane treatment before being executed. According to testimonies, the victims were lured with false job offers and then forced into forced training, in slave-like conditions, until the cartel decided their fate.
