Employees: Don’t quit your job. The grass is always greener on the side you water the most.

Employers: Don’t ignore your employees. It is 1,000% more expensive to recruit and train a new employee than it is to nurture the relationship with existing staff.

Employee and employer relationships are a two-way street.

Both sides have equal responsibility to work at the relationship, but right now it’s a “seller’s market”, which means employees have the upper hand.

This also means employers have to work harder than ever to retain employees, especially the best and the brightest!

Nobody wants to lose a good employee . And no good employee wants to give up their job because they are smart enough to know that the new job will almost always have the same challenges of the existing job he/she has.

The success depends upon you, the employee!

Yes, the grass is greener on the other side, but that’s always the side that gets watered the most.

Don’t quit. Be grateful.

We are so blessed to be having a job today, even though there’s many other jobs trying trying to lure us away.

It’s all about attitude.

Have a great attitude and you will have success, even though you feel you have the worst job.

I remember my boss Steve Temple, who back in 1992, when I asked for a promotion after just a year on the job, he told me, “John, don’t be in such a hurry. Have fun at your job. Do well and your job and the money will follow”.

Today people quit their job for most any reason.

If people will leave their wife or husband for even silly reasons, people will leave their jobs.

Everybody’s quitting everything these days.

Volunteers do at keeping their jobs than paid employees.

Have you heard of the Great Quit? Have you heard of the Quiet Quit?

No matter what they call it, people are leaving their jobs by the millions. This hurts all of us.

I have an Accountant today who looks like she is going to quit. She’s leaving a great job. Back in the day, if I had her job as an Accountant, I would hold on to it!

If you’re an Accountant, you know the feeling of owning your own general ledger, where only you can touch it and only you can reconcile it.

There’s nothing the feeling of getting your monthly bank statement in the mail at the end of the month, opening up the envelope, and smelling that unique smell of freshly printed bank statements.

Ah the smell of a freshly printed bank statement!

Just like the smell of a freshly printed Wall Street Journal, with your morning coffee in hand.

Oh, life doesn’t get any better than this!

Yes, I’m a CPA…I’m proud to be a nerd!

So why is everybody quitting?

Here are some of the reasons why people are quitting their jobs today:

1. Low pay.
2. Feeling disrespected at work.
3. Lack of career advancement, opportunity, or a clear path to success.
4. Childcare issues.
5. Not enough flexibility at work.
6. Poor work - life balance.
7. Burnout.
8. Abad manager.

There are many other reasons

As I said earlier, it costs 1,000% more to recruit a replacement employee than it does to retain.

Can you see why I say it is a lose-lose situation when an employee leaves the organization?

It’s bad for the employee, it’s bad for the employer, it’s bad for our country.

All for now,
