We use adjectives ending in –ed to describe a feeling (how we feel about something).
We use adjectives ending in –ing to describe the characteristic of a thing, a situation, a place or a person (It cause a feeling.)
Sok is frightened.
(his feeling)
Snakes are frightening.
(characteristic of snakes)
