There are many frameworks that are use in the product development process, but not all of the frameworks are popular with the people that should use them. I did a poll recently asking about the most unpopular frameworks use for software development.
Scrum is probably one the most popular framework used to adopt Agile, naturally there will be many people that don’t like it. And obviously there is some fair criticism when it comes to Scrum being rigid and strict and lacking flexibility.
SAFe, Scale Agile Framework, is probably the most disliked Agile framework, with many people directly saying that is just not Agile. To be fair there is a focus on keeping the changes of being Agile to the development teams, while the rest of the organization works in a very Waterfall way.
Waterfall is obviously not Agile, and it was not created to handle software projects, hence is not a good fit for them. Still, many companies work in a very Waterfall way, creating work packages and long requirements and doing handovers between teams, resulting in very long development and feedback cycles with the customers. Waterfall works better in other product creation processes like manufacturing.
