Project Description:
This project demonstrates the charging and discharging behavior of a capacitor using simple components: a capacitor, two push buttons, and a voltmeter. One push button is used to charge the capacitor from a voltage source, and the other push button is used to discharge it. The voltage across the capacitor is measured using a voltmeter, allowing observation of the capacitor's charging and discharging curves in real time.

Components Used:

1 Capacitor (any value suitable for demonstration, e.g., 470 µF)

2 Push Buttons (one for charging, one for discharging)

1 Voltmeter (to measure capacitor voltage)

Connecting wires

Power supply (e.g., 5V DC)

Working Principle:

Charging: Pressing the first push button connects the capacitor to the voltage source. The capacitor charges, and the voltage across it gradually increases until it reaches the supply voltage. The voltmeter shows the voltage rise.

Discharging: Pressing the second push button connects the capacitor to a low-resistance path (or directly across a resistor if you want controlled discharge). The capacitor discharges, and the voltage across it decreases, which can be observed on the voltmeter.

Key Concepts Demonstrated:

Capacitor charging and discharging

Voltage-time relationship of a capacitor
