the following is a true story:
when I was 4 years ond in 1978 or so, my oldest brother brought home a one speaker ghetto blaster with a recorded tape (with 'cursive' writing "Science Fiction-Double Feature" that kept on dissappearing from side to side-or not there at all) he borrowed from a friend...
I would sit there and hear 1970's styled soft rock ("Science Fiction double feature") thinking it was a great ballad with a woman singing.
Then I would hear TIME WARP, and just like in kindergarden, dance around the room to it. I have ADD, so I didnt understand the words. But I didnt even do it right.
Then after I discovered Dr. Demento, I realised this may be the song. but still I was stopped.
Then Vincent Price halloween music video special would come on, I remember that.
But I didnt pay attention to the RHPS on TV that one time with audience participation that they did on the FOX network KTVU ch 2.
A few years after high school, I begged my friends to go. They said NO and dropped me off. Not only did I avoid the virgin ceromony, but I sat at the back and when the first song came on. I WAS IN SHOCK!!!
That was the same song I heard when I was a kid.
Seemed my oldest brother went to RHPS every weekend almost when he was younger. WOW!!!
