Freelancer (2003) is a cult classic of the space sim genre, developed by Digital Anvil and Chris Roberts (Wing Commander). The game captivates with its breathtaking freedom, epic factions (Bretonnia, Kusari, etc.), and an immersive universe that still fascinates today. Whether smuggling, trading, or space combat – Freelancer sets the standard for open-world space games. And yes: It runs perfectly on Linux with Lutris!
🎤 Why a rhyming review?
Because Freelancer is more than code and polygons – it's POETRY. The smooth controls, the endless expanses, the factions that twinkle like constellations… This doesn't deserve a dry review, but an epic in rhyme. Here's my attempt to capture the feeling of the game in words.
