There are many similarities between the character played by Colin Firth in Bridget Jones' Diary and the one played here by Michele Rosiello. But not only that, of course...

"I don't know if the writers were actually inspired by Colin Firth's character.
But surely there are some common traits, even some situations. I'm thinking of when Mark reads Bridget's diary, where she speaks badly of him... the same happens to Davide when he listens to the messages Alice has left in Enrico's phone. And the phrase "I like you just the way you are" also applies to Davide and Alice.
But in David there is also a touch of Daniel, Hugh Grant's character. Or rather, Davide initially appears a bit like Daniel in Alice's eyes. Then we discover that this is not the case.
I mean, I happened to be reviewing “Bridget Jones's Diary” before I started filming “Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts”, but I didn't think of Mark Darcy or anyone else to prepare him.
Davide Sardi has a very clear personal story and it was enough to work on that and on his relationship with Alice to build the character. A man determined at work, but also with an obvious sensitivity. He observes and listens a lot, speaks little.
He says it himself: "Observing people, in silence... works just the same". Apparently resolved, he hides a strong pain. And precisely because of this, he runs away when his most intimate sphere is touched.
But there is a limit to everything and the encounter with Alice is one of those "with no return".
