The Civil War wasn’t about the North's love for Black people—it was about two factions of whiteness fighting for their vision of America: one where slavery persisted openly, and one where it persisted in disguise.
Even after “winning,” the Union left slavery intact in loyal border states, allowed Jim Crow to rise, and abandoned freed Black people to YT terror. Furthermore, Abraham Lincoln wasn’t an abolitionist hero—he was a pragmatist who prioritized YT unity over Black freedom.
