This is an extension to a two part Blender tutorial, adding a shadow to the flourish animation. So I suppose this is Part 3.

The final result is better than the opening example, because the example had to be adjusted to a mere 15 fps to match the screencast.
As a side note: For my new POP-UPS in the video, I used my "flower_petals.py" Python script in Blender, except with just one petal. The tutorial and script are here:

I deleted the gratuitous parent empty (not the controller empty). I parented the text to the turquoise pop-up (ctrl + p / object). I copied the alpha driver of the turquoise material and pasted it into the alpha control of the text material.
