This mod does actually work, you can watch my update video where I show uncut video, or look it up on google. This mod is Called a BSEL mod, and in short it kind of "tricks" the motherboard in running the CPU at a higher frequency. It will work on some other LGA 775 CPUs as long as the motherboard supports FSB 1333MHz and the CPU has a FSB speed of 1066Mhz. Read through some of the top comments for a little more details.
Instructions:
Place a piece of tape over the first pin down from the left notch when both the notches are pointing upwards. I know the video showed two pieces of tape. Although I later found out that you only need one piece.
