Nickelodeon UK clips (Dec 1995)
Some Nickelodeon clips from deep into December 1995, just before Christmas, during and after Rugrats and into Pete and Pete, featuring presentation, promos, and ads. Viewers are encouraged to sign up for the "I'm Too Skint to Buy Presents for My Parents" club, and the Watch Your Own Weekend is in full swing with the options of Dracula, Max Glick and Garbage Pail Kids on offer.
I really think Nickelodeon deserve a lot of credit for their in-vision continuity in this era. They hadn't been going long over here, but they quickly managed to create an identity that was warm and intimate, almost like you were part of an exclusive club. The last time I had cause to see a bit of Nick, it all felt so much more corporately sterile, and it might just as well have been the American channel (or Canadian, or Australian, or whatever) being pumped straight through our airwaves. Or maybe I'm just old and grumpy.
