MY SOG SEAL XR FLIPPER LOCK FAILED - Can I Fix It? Attempting the Fire-Starting Torture Test Again
Correction: The spine of the tang is supposed to be angled slightly to allow the lock bar and solid crossbar pinch the tang. This allows the knife to lock in more solidly as the spine wears down. SOG's factory angle on the spine was too extreme to prevent the knife from coming unlocked when downward force is applied at the tip. This could also be caused by weak omega springs.
