Here are two of the many musical numbers from this film that I choreographed. In the first number Glen Cambpell was the lead singer who became very famous in the years to come; The number was created to drive the storyline along. I also designed the psychedelic glasses by cutting tape in triangle shapes & put them on lenses .The scene included the great band leader/actor Phil Harris who was married to movie star of the 40's Alice Faye The 2nd number was straight choreography. These dancers worked constantly in the 60’s because they were able to make the transition of mixing Jazz with Go Go style dancing. Many of these dancer became well known directors, choreographers, and producers on their own: Water Painter, Jimmy Hibbard, Anita Man, Teri Garr (became an Oscar nominated actor), Johnny Alvarez( became a casting director), Melanie Alexander, Tom KayHill (became a Jesuit priest), and Stevie Ciro. The others married rich!!!! Gene Nelson directed this film. He was also a dancing star in the Hollywood musicals of the 1950's. Here’s some trivia: I tested for the lead role in this movie with P.J. Proby who was a U.K pop star at the time. Neither of us got the role. I opted not to dance in the film because the choreography and prep was all consuming
