The Battle of Wavre: Napoleon's Unsung Triumph
Wavre, Belgium. While Napoleon suffered a crushing defeat at Waterloo on June 18, 1815, another battle, almost forgotten this time, was raging at the same time a few kilometers away: the Battle of Wavre. Reenactors eager for cavalry and passionate about the Napoleonic Wars were eager to take part in this reenactment. Roaring cannons, neighing horses, thunderous orders issued by commanders and shots flying from all sides: war as if we were there… 201 years earlier!
