Have you ever encountered the following situation while using Siemens NX: You want to machine a tight area using a ball-end mill in a three-axis operation, but you find that not all areas are machined because the tool is clamped too short, which would otherwise cause a collision. What to do? The solution: Swivel the tool axis to ensure sufficient clearance. The easiest way to achieve this is by using the so-called Viewing Direction.
