Film scoring with orchestral sample libraries needs loads of computing power, so composers are looking at solutions such as AudioGridder to offload DSP (digital signal processing) on to a second machine connected on a local network. This video shows how display of the subject film can also be moved on to a networked server machine to keep the processing, and screen presentation, separate from the DAW.

Subtitle narrative of this video...

This demo uses AudioGridder 1.2.0 (currently in beta test, November 2022).
The client is a 2009 Windows 7 PC & the server is an Apple Mac running macOS 10.14.
Communication is over ethernet at only 100 mbps.
Modern systems will run ethernet up to 100 times faster (1 to 10 gigabits per second).

To get started firstly, on the server, install AudioGridder Server & the VST3 version of VidPlayVST (file VidPlayV2ip2.vst3).
Start AudioGridder Server &, first time in, it will do a plugin scan.

In AudioGridder Server Settings select Screen Capturing Quality: Low.
We only need a low quality image to display in the client DAW.

On the client do the AudioGridder Plugin installation & then select AudioGridder Instrument into the DAW of your choice. This is FL Studio, for example.

Connection to the server is established & VidPlayV2ip2 is selected from the list of VST3 server installed plugins.

An image of the VidPlayV2ip2 server plugin is embedded within the AudioGridder client plugin.

Back on the server, VidPlayV2ip2 is now displayed.

In the client DAW start the transport running...

On the server playback syncs to the client...

VidPlayVST also has full screen & dual monitor options.
