Laser Loop at Kennywood was a shuttle loop launch coaster built by Schwarzkopf that operated from 1980 to 1990. Using a flywheel launching mechanism, riders were launched out of the station at 57 mph through a vertical loop and then up a 137 ft tall spike at a 70 degree angle. The train then fell backwards and traversed the course in reverse until flying through the station and up another spike before falling forward to a complete stop. The ride was 860 ft long and took 30 seconds to complete.
Laser Loop was a standard production model shuttle loop by Schwarzkopf that was common in late 70's and 80's. Laser Loop closed in 1990 to make room for the Arrow Dynamics looping hyper coaster, Steel Phantom which opened in 1991. That ride is currently the Phantom's Revenge. Laser Loop was relocated to La Feria Chapultepec Magico and was renamed Cascabel. The ride is standing but not operating as of 2019.
