In recent years, there has been an increased emphasis on AI ethics—to understand and mitigate adverse impacts of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on society.
In this regard, reflexive design can serve as a useful feedback mechanism to help educate AI scientists and developers about different ethical perspectives, potential adverse outcomes, and gaps in the AI pipeline.
Generative artworks have the potential to play this role by serving as accessible and powerful educational tools for surfacing different perspectives.
