avex very generously uploaded the fbk model with dance motion data for Eiko (Zhuge Liang / Kongming's new liege in the out of nowhere smash hit anime Ya Boy Kongming! / パリピ孔明) in their video demonstrating the Eiko avatar dancing to Chiki Chiki Bang Bang / チキチキバンバン in their video description    • TVアニメ「パリピ孔明」OPテーマ「チキチキバンバン」【踊ってみた】 with 3D...

The download is only available for a limited time so by the time you see this description, it may have been removed.

The package includes a text file listing out the limitations of usage, the most important one being limitations only in distribution of the original fbk files and use commercially. So I figured, why not use this to see what I can do on Linux with the files.

I first imported the fbk file into Blender, and after setting some basic configs for start and end frames, captured the workflow using OBS to getting the model to dance. The framerate was set to 30 fps as stated in the readme file included with the fbk model, and recorded at a lower resolution as I just wanted to get out a quick video.

Next, I used kdenlive to make a composite of avex's rendering to show what professionals can do instead with this data 😹

Rendering was done on an AMD Ryzen 5 3600. Not sure if my Radeon RX 580 helped since it was greyed out in Blender. I am definitely looking forward to tinkering further with this setup.
