New Zealand's DUSKY TRACK - 2023
The Dusky Track in New Zealand's Fiordland wilderness is a 80km, 8 day long tramping track. It is New Zealand's most remote hut trek, as well as perhaps the hardest and muddiest. We were the only ones on the trail at the time we went. The Dusky crosses two mountain ranges and follows three rivers, all through an area with notoriously rainy and unpredictable weather. Sandflies are persistent in the valleys. Nevertheless, it's a spectacular trail through a unique 'Gondwana rainforest' environment.
